Safe Harbor to co-host Amber Alert training

Safe Harbor, in conjunction with Amber Alert, the USDOJ, Fox Valley Technical College and the Sevierville Police Department will be hosting a seminar for law enforcement and prosecutors from the 4th Judicial District and other areas on “Forensic Response to Missing & Abducted Children” February 21-22, 2007 in Sevierville, TN. 

This is the first time this training by the Amber Alert team has ever been offered in East Tennessee, let alone East Tennessee.

    The “Forensic Response to Missing and Abducted Children” was a huge success, with over 60 attendees from across the State of Tennessee, as well as Arkansass and Virginia, including local law enforcement, TBI and the FBI.

    Given the huge success of this event, Safe Harbor is already talking with the USDOJ, Amber Alert and Fox Valley Technical College to bring another of their intensive seminars for law enforcement back next year.

    The next training Safe Harbor will be hosting is an intensive three-day seminar called “NLC Protects” by the National Law Center for Children & Families in May 2007. The upcoming seminar will include law enforcement investigators and prosecutors, with respective training credits for each of their disciplines from that accrediting authorities.
